Kajol Devgan: One of the most successful actresses

Every person likes to get recognition for his work. A means of that recognition is the award. It is not that one has to work to get the reward, but the reward motivates any person to work anew. Acceptance of all these awards is not equal. All people want to achieve the most acceptable reward. But all people can’t achieve. Kajol is one of the few people who can achieve that.

Oscar is the best award for those who are involved in the acting world. Filmfare Awards are considered as the Oscars of India. It is second only to the National Film Awards of India in terms of prestige. This award started from 1954. In the history of this award, two actresses have won the best actress award the most 5 times. One of them is Kajal. Born with extraordinary talent, the path of this actress has developed beyond the medium of acting. Let’s hear some of it.

Born on 5 August 1974 in Mumbai, India, Kajol’s father Samu Mukherjee and mother Tanuja Mukherjee were both associated with the film industry. Father was a film director and mother were an actress. Even though his parents got separated in his childhood, it did not have a big impact on his life. Studied at St. Joseph’s Convent Boarding School but dropped out at one stage due to interest in media.

In 1992, at the age of 17, he made his debut in the movie world with the romantic movie ‘Bekhudi’. Although the movie failed commercially, he managed to catch the attention of the producers due to his acting skills. As a result, he signed the movie ‘Bajigar’ the very next year. The success of this movie cemented his position in Bollywood. After that he did some more hit and medium hit movies but the biggest success of his career came in 1995. The movie ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ was released at the end of this year. Kajol and Shah Rukh leaving the train at the railway station in the last scene of the film is considered to be one of the best romantic scenes of all time in Bollywood.

The romantic genre film was a huge commercial success and won a total of 10 awards at the Filmfare Awards, the record for the most awards won by a film at that time. Through this, Kajol won the first Filmfare award of her career.

In 1997, he took another big challenge in his career. Played the role of Khal in ‘Gupta’ where she acts as a psycho killer and passionate lover. While the movie was a commercial success, it also grabbed the attention of the critics. In an interview, Kajol said,

“It was one of the most challenging roles of my career. It was very difficult for me to play a bad character.”

The film also marked the first time a woman was nominated for the role of a villain at the Filmfare Awards and won the award.

The year 1998 was the best year of Kajol’s career after debut. Payar Kiya To Darna Kya with Salman Khan released earlier this year. It also brings business success. Apart from this, ‘Dushman’ opposite Sanjay Dutt and ‘Pair To Hona Hi Tha’ opposite Ajay Devgn also did good business. However, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which was released at the end of the year, did more business than expected. The songs of this movie became incredibly popular. In the two parts of the movie, Kajol is seen playing two types of characters and both the characters mesmerize the audience. Kajol won the second Filmfare Award of her career with this movie.

1999 was a special year for Kajol. People in the media usually don’t want to get married at the height of their career or keep it a secret even if they do get married. However, at the height of her career, Kajol surprised everyone by announcing her marriage to Ajay Devgan, another actor of the media. After the marriage, the multi-starrer film ‘Kavi Khushi Kavi Gam’ was released in 2001. Kajol won the third Filmfare Award of her career through this movie.

There comes a time in every actress’s life when their demand starts to wane a bit. “Out of sight is out of mind” – this saying is very applicable to media people. That’s why actors and actresses usually don’t want to hide themselves from the spotlight to survive in the media. But Kajal pulled herself away. The aim is to give more importance to the family. He did not release any movie for almost 5 years. During this time she became a mother and devoted her entire time to the family.

Later in 2006, he returned to Bollywood with the movie ‘Fana’. In the past, most of the actors and actresses did not make a comeback after a long break. Based on an important plot, the movie ‘Fana’ was not only a commercial success but also managed to attract the attention of the critics. Kajol won her fourth Filmfare Award for playing the role of a blind woman in this film.

He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2011 by the Government of India in recognition of his work.

Kajol as a Mother

The important entity of a woman is her motherhood. Actress Kajol’s biggest achievement is that she is successful in her married life. Despite being flamboyant and hugely popular on screen, she has always prioritized her family. Even at the peak of popularity, daughter Naisa and son kept away from the glamorous world of the media.

That’s why the Bollywood animation producer ‘Mighty Raju Leo King’ got the Mighty Mom award. While accepting the award, Kajol said,

All mothers in the world are powerful mothers. All of them take great pains to bring up their children. I don’t know if I am a strong mother or not. But yes, I have always given my children the most importance.

The world has seen a lot of wonderful actresses before, there is no less wonderful mother in the world. However, there are very few people in the world who successfully manage both aspects. Kajal Devgan is one of those few people.
